It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle tips, as well as the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin-off.
Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones I still play now, some 18 months after the daily pun hype hit the internet, and for good reason: it’s a lot of fun but also difficult.
In addition, its creators (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) also keep it updated in the form of a new variant called Daily Sequence, in which you can solve four puzzles in a row rather than simultaneously.
But Quordle is tough. So if you’re already looking for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need some for this game too.
I’m a Quordle and Wordle fan and have been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle Notes on Game #507 and the answers on the main game and daily sequence.

What is Quordles?
While Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word each day, Quordle presents you with four riddles to solve. And instead of doing them one at a time, do this at the same time. You can guess nine times instead of Wordle’s six, but otherwise the rules are very similar.
It is played online via Quordle website and you can also access it through the Merriam-Webster website after the dictionary bought Quordle last year.
As with Wordle, the answers for each player are the same every day, meaning you’re up against the rest of the world. And like Wordle, the puzzle resets at midnight, giving you a new challenge every day.
The site also has a practice mode which I definitely recommend before playing the game properly! – and there are daily stats, including a streak count. You’ll also get Quordle Achievements – special badges for winning a game in a certain number of rounds, for playing often, or for guessing particularly difficult words.
Oh, and it’s difficult. Very difficult.
What are the Quordle Rules?
Quordle’s rules are almost identical to Wordle’s.
1. Letters that are in the answer and in the correct place turn green.
2. Letters that appear in the answer but are in the wrong place turn yellow.
3. Letters that are not in the answer will turn grey…
4. …BUT the word you guessed appears in all quadrants of the puzzle at once, so an A could turn green in one cell, yellow in another, and gray in the last two.
5. Answers are never in the plural.
6. Letters can occur multiple times. So if your guess has two letters of a letter, maybe both will be yellow, both will be green, or one could be yellow and the other green.
7. Each guess must be a valid word in Quordle’s dictionary. For example, you cannot guess ABCDE.
8th. You don’t have to supply correct letters for subsequent guesses, and there’s no equivalent to Wordle’s hard mode.
9. You have nine attempts to find the Quordle Answers.
10 You must complete the daily quordle before midnight in your time zone.
What is a good quordle strategy?
Quordle needs to be approached differently than Wordle. With four puzzles to solve in nine guesses, you can’t just blindly throw letters at it and expect to win – your chances are far better if you think strategically.
This is of course also the case with Wordle, but it is even more important with Quordle.
There are two important things to keep in mind.
1. Use multiple start words
First, you don’t just want a single seed word, you almost certainly want it two or three initial words.
The first of these should probably be one of the best Wordle start words, because the same things that make them work well apply here as well. After that, however, you should choose one or two more words that contain many more of the most common consonants and contain all the remaining vowels.
For example, I’m currently using STARE > DOILY > PUNCH. Altogether, these three words use 15 of the 26 letters of the alphabet, including all five vowels, Y, and nine of the most common consonants (S, T, R, D, L, P, N, C, and H). There are many other options – you might want an M, B, F, or G there instead of the H – but something like this should do the trick.
If all goes well, you’ll get a good clue as to one or sometimes two of the answers. If not, then good luck!
2. Narrow things down
Second, when presented with a word where the answer could easily be one of several options—for example, -ATCH, where it might be MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, CATCH, WATCH, HATCH, or PATCH—resolve it definitely want to guess a word that would narrow down those options.
Instead, in Wordle you can try several of them in a row and hope one gets right, assuming you have enough guesswork left. It’s risky, but sometimes it works. Also, it’s the only option in Hard mode. But in Quordle, this will almost certainly lead to failure – you just don’t have enough guesswork.
In the scenario above, CLAMP would be a good guess as it could point the way to four of the seven words at once.
